THANKS DIABLO

Not to be a cunt muscle or whatever because I totally don’t support teenage girls putting babies inside of themselves (or anything for that matter) but I’m going to be blunt: I would assume most girls who would answer “yes” to the question “do you want to be a teen mom?” were too busy ripping off sparkly lip gloss from Walgreens, skipping Bible class to fuck in the pews and waiting in line to see something like Norbit to go and see something like Juno.

But yeah, totally. Let’s blame the woman doing something with her life who wrote a movie two years ago. That seems relevant as fuck.

The fact that you took this as anything other than is a joke speaks more to your intelligence than mine. This was a voluntary survey from the website of the Tyra Banks show for god sakes.

Obviously, I don’t think Diablo Cody is in any way responsible for any pregnancy, teen or otherwise. However, I think it’s pretty naive to assert that a movie that so thoroughly penetrated the popular culture of our country had no effect on the views of teenage girls (one of the most impressionable demographics) towards pregnancy. Even if they hadn’t seen the movie, as you seem to assert with no factual basis, they were certainly aware of Juno as it was lampooned or at least discussed by 99% of the media outlets in the USA..

Did Diablo Cody make a teenage girl decide to get pregnant? No. Has she created an image of the pregnant teenage girl that’s clever, pretty, and having a general good time? Most certainly. I’m not making any judgements about a what a girl/woman decides to do with a baby, but I think it’s safe to say Juno made teen pregnancy seem at least a bit more sexy.

Also, the movie came out less than a year ago and was released on DVD April of this year Molls. I don’t think most people were following Juno while it was in development two years ago. Please refrain from trying to score points off your followers by feigning moral outrage in a post you clearly took less than a minute to write (boilerplate Molls: throw in a couple cliches, intersperse with some expletives, add some mild disaffection with a touch of faux self-deprecation). Honestly, your response would be funny if it didn’t speak to your embarrassing lack of intelligence.
